The Beagle Freedom Project has successfully closed an animal testing facility in Nowata, Oklahoma, converting the site into a sanctuary and adoption center.

The organization now looks after more than 200 animals, primarily cats and dogs, that were formerly used for testing. Shannon Keith, the founder, managed to persuade the owner to retire and give up their USDA license, which facilitated the release of the animals and the property’s conversion.

Now known as Freedom Fields, this new sanctuary offers a fresh start for these animals, many of whom have already been placed in loving homes. The organization is dedicated to securing permanent homes for all the animals, while also upgrading the facility to provide them with a safe, temporary home during their transition.
