Netflix’s most successful series has broken records!

Wednesday, Tim Burton’s latest series, has surpassed Stranger Things season four as the most-watched English-language series on Netflix.

Netflix has changed its approach to determining its most popular content since 2021. Previously, the Top 10 list was based on the total number of hours watched for TV shows and movies. This favored longer content, giving them an advantage. However, the streaming giant now considers the length of the show or movie and assesses popular titles based on views rather than hours watched.

In light of this change, Wednesday has taken the lead with 1.718 billion hours viewed, surpassing Stranger Things season four, which previously benefited from its 13-hour runtime and accumulated 1.838 billion hour views. Despite Wednesday’s lower total hours viewed, when you consider the runtime of each series, Wednesday emerges as the most popular title with 252 million views, as reported by Deadline. In comparison, Stranger Things only managed to garner 140 million views.
