Andrew Mark George, a 42-year-old British physiotherapist living in Mellieħa, lost his beloved guide dog, Briar, to a sudden heart attack a year-and-a-half ago. Now, he is seeking €46,500 to buy a replacement canine companion. Due to a change in residency, he no longer qualifies for assistance from Guide Dogs UK and is facing a long waiting list with the Malta Guide Dog Foundation. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused delays in guide dog breeding and training internationally.

Andrew’s independence has been greatly affected, and he wishes to regain it through a new guide dog. He is reaching out for financial help through a GoFundMe campaign to achieve this goal.
