Potentially thousands of Facebook users may be entitled to a portion of a $725 million class action lawsuit settlement with Meta.

If you fall within the age group of millennials who used Facebook between May 24, 2007 and December 22, 2022, you may be owed some money. However, you will need to file a claim to receive your share of the settlement.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, recently reached a settlement in a long-standing lawsuit concerning privacy of personal data on the social media platform. In 2018, it was revealed that Meta had improperly shared users’ information with Cambridge Analytica, and the trial documented that Meta had failed to adequately monitor data access rules.

Although Meta did not admit to any wrongdoing, the company agreed to the $725 million settlement as a resolution to the extensive charges. It is estimated that approximately 250-280 million Facebook users could be eligible to receive compensation from Meta as part of the settlement.
