Mastercard has officially launched “Mastercard Day” in Malta, introducing a new weekly rewards initiative that gives cardholders cashback on supermarket shopping every Tuesday.
Running from May 5 until June 30, Mastercard cardholders who spend a total of €50 at supermarkets on Tuesdays within the same month can receive €10 cashback. The offer applies to both in-store and online supermarket purchases made directly with participating supermarkets across Malta.
The cashback will be automatically credited once eligible transactions are completed and validated. Each card can benefit once per month, while the promotion is available to a limited number of cards monthly.
The campaign is open to active Mastercard cards issued by Maltese banks and authorised payment institutions, excluding Maestro and commercial cards. Purchases made through third-party delivery providers are not included.
Panagiotis Polydoros, Country Manager of Mastercard for Greece, Cyprus and Malta, said the initiative aims to bring “meaningful value and benefits” to consumers’ everyday lives by turning routine supermarket shopping into a rewarding experience.
Mastercard also revealed that “Mastercard Day” is expected to expand into additional spending categories in the future.
