Island of Oblivion, a new film by Maltese director Jamie Vella, is set to make its world premiere in competition at the Prishtina International Film Festival in Kosovo on Saturday, 13 September 2025 🎞
Inspired by The Odyssey, the film reimagines the myth of Calypso and Odysseus from a humanist perspective, drawing clear connections to Gozo’s own legend of Calypso’s Cave. The production features an international cast and highlights a broad spectrum of Maltese creative talent across all departments.
Following its international debut, Island of Oblivion will have its first local screening on Wednesday, 8 October 2025, at Eden Cinemas in St. Julian’s.
