Maltese football sensation Haley Bugeja has made a momentous move to the renowned Italian club Inter, as officially announced on Tuesday. 

Joining the ranks of the Milan-based team, led by former Juventus manager Rita Guarino, Bugeja has signed a promising three-year contract. This comes after her successful stint with Orlando Pride in the United States, where she spent a year honing her skills.

This marks Bugeja’s second venture into Italian football, following her previous spell at Sassuolo between 2020 and 2022. During her debut season, the Maltese striker took the Italian top flight by storm, emerging as Sassuolo’s leading goal scorer with an impressive tally of 12 goals.

In total, Bugeja found the back of the net 15 times in 36 games across various competitions for Sassuolo, including a crucial goal in the final match of the 2021/2022 season, securing a 2-1 victory over her new club, Inter.

Anticipation surrounds Bugeja’s arrival as she is expected to join Inter’s pre-season training in the latter part of July, gearing up for an exciting new chapter in her football career.
