Gozo Offering €300 For Tourists To Visit In Winter

Ready to embrace the magic of winter in Gozo? ❄️🎄

Clint Camilleri, the Minister for Gozo, has officially revealed the launch of a tourism-boosting initiative outlined in the 2023 budget. The primary goal of this scheme is to invigorate tourism in Gozo during the fall and winter seasons, which usually experience a slowdown after the busy summer months.

Dubbed as the “Extended-Stay Incentive Scheme for the Accommodation Sector in Gozo 2023-24,” the program is set to run from October 15, 2023, to March 15, 2024. To participate, tourists must stay in Gozo for a minimum of 10 nights and choose accommodations from a list of properties participating in the scheme.

The scheme has garnered the support of 15 operators who responded to an expression of interest published by Gozo’s Tourism Association. These operators jointly offer over 140 properties to cater to the diverse preferences of tourists, including 4 and 5-star hotels, boutique hotels, and self-catering villas or farmhouses. Under this initiative, tourists will enjoy a generous 30% discount on their bookings, capped at a maximum of €300. The financing of the scheme is a collaborative effort between the government and the private sector, with an 80% and 20% contribution, respectively.

Moreover, to encourage repeat visits during the summer, private operators will also be providing an additional 10% voucher to those who book through this scheme.
