Dogs Release The “Love Hormone” When They Reunite W/ Their Owners That Leaves Them Teary-eyed

We don’t deserve dogs 🥺

A recent study featured in Current Biology suggests that dogs might produce tears when they are reunited with their owners after being away from them.

Using the Schirmer Test to assess tear production, researchers observed a notable rise in tear levels within the first five minutes of the reunion, likely triggered by oxytocin, often referred to as the “love hormone” 🥰

Additionally, the study found that when owners saw their dogs’ eyes welling up, they tended to show more affection and care, indicating a deep emotional connection that mirrors human relationships.
