Schools Around Malta were Evacuated Due To Bomb Threats

Schools nationwide faced a wave of bomb threats on Monday morning, believed to be part of a coordinated effort.

According to Times of Malta, Government sources revealed that every state school in Malta and Gozo was targeted with an emailed bomb threat. Several private and Church schools are also thought to have been affected.

The first report emerged around 7:30 a.m. from Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary School in Naxxar. Police confirmed similar threats were reported at other schools, including those in Sliema, St Julian’s, Pieta’, Tarxien, and Santa Venera.

In response to the threats, students at St Michael’s School in Pembroke were evacuated. Authorities noted that all schools received identical emails containing the threat.
