In Malta, the Foundation for Social Welfare Services has identified and assisted ten human trafficking victims over the past two years.

One victim, a Chinese woman, shared her story with TVM News. After paying €12,000, she was forced by her Maltese employer to provide sexual services, despite having no experience in the massage industry.

Her employer threatened to revoke her working permit if she refused. She eventually found another job, but the same situation persisted.
