In response to a parliamentary query from PN MP Jerome Caruana Cilia, Minister Byron Camilleri revealed that Naxxar’s Coast Road topped the chart with 13,748 traffic fines in 2023. Not far behind, Attard’s Triq in-Nutar Żarb recorded 6,920 fines, marking nearly twice the number of the runner-up.

The list of areas with the highest fines also included Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli in St Julian’s with 5,825 fines, Triq Dun Karm in Birkirkara with 5,712 fines, and the area around Malta International Airport in Gudja with 4,188 fines.

Looking ahead to 2024, the first quarter already saw 2,369 fines on the Coast Road. Following closely were Birkirkara’s Triq Dun Karm with 2,144 fines and Mosta’s Triq il-Kostituzzjoni with 2,118 fines.
