Study Finds: Microplastics Found In All Tested Male Testicles

Microscopic plastic fragments are appearing throughout the human body, including male reproductive organs 😲🥚

A new study shows microplastics accumulating in the testicles of humans and dogs, raising concerns about their health effects. Animal studies suggest microplastic exposure can harm sperm quality and male fertility, but its impact on humans is still being explored.

“Microplastics are everywhere,” says Dr. John Yu, a toxicologist at the University of New Mexico. Quantifying these particles in humans is crucial for understanding their potential harm.

Yu’s team found a high concentration of microplastics in the testicles of men and dogs, surprising given the blood-tissue barrier. This may relate to the global decline in sperm count and fertility issues linked to endocrine-disrupting chemicals in plastics.
