Sleeping Longer During The Weekends Prevents Heart Attacks

A recent study featured in Sleep Health indicates that catching up on sleep during the weekend might be more advantageous for heart health than previously thought.

Researchers at Nanjing Medical University examined data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, which included over 3,400 U.S. adults.

Their findings revealed that individuals who gained at least an extra hour of sleep on weekends had a notably lower risk of cardiovascular problems, such as heart attacks and strokes, compared to those who didn’t compensate for their sleep shortfall.
