Wellwishers have raised more than $400,000 to cover medical expenses for Aric Hutchinson, who was severely injured in a car crash after his wedding reception.

The funds raised will also go towards Sam Hutchinson’s funeral, as the couple was struck by an alleged drunk driver shortly after leaving their reception. Aric suffered multiple injuries, including broken bones and a brain injury, and has undergone one of two planned reconstruction surgeries.

Sadly, Sam passed away due to her injuries. The 25-year-old driver has been charged with DUI involving death and reckless homicide.

To assist with Aric’s medical expenses and Sam’s funeral costs, a GoFundMe page was established by Annette Hutchinson, Aric’s mother. Annette shared the heartbreaking news of Aric losing his beloved wife, stating that she received his wedding ring in a plastic bag at the hospital hours after the couple exchanged vows.

The tragedy has garnered international attention, with donations pouring in from various countries including the UK and Germany.
