KWIR: The Film Showing At Eden Cinemas Between September 19th-21st

Earlier this year, Maltese television made history with KWIR, the country’s very first LGBTIQ drama series 🌈

Breaking barriers with 13 bold episodes, it put queer stories front and centre during primetime, unapologetic, real, and ground-breaking.

Now the story continues, bigger, louder, and prouder, on the big screen. KWIR: The Film is making its cinema debut at Eden Cinemas during Pride Week, featuring exclusive new scenes, special appearances, and a must-see cameo from Big Brother Malta winner Jay Vella!

At its heart, KWIR tells the story of Lysander, a rising teenage footballer torn between the world’s expectations of masculinity and his feelings for Connor, his classmate who loves him without hesitation. Their journey pulls us into Malta’s vibrant drag scene, tackling the stigma that queer athletes face, celebrating authenticity, and proving that football, just like love, belongs to everyone.
