It’s festa season and I’m sure you’ve all attended or at least heard about the iconic marċ.

So if you’re planning on attending one for the first time – here are some things to expect from a Maltese festa marċ.

1. Getting covered with beer
2. Ending up with a heat stroke
3. Getting covered with paint and ruining your shoes
4. Holding flags or balloons
5. Hearing the most creative swears
6. Being carried on people’s shoulders
7. Watching the mayor partying (and probably drunk as well)
