Soon after opening in 2015, Jenny and Mike Stevens, owners of a Little Caesars restaurant in Fargo, North Dakota, began providing free pizza to the hungry and homeless.
Despite Mike’s struggle with cancer, they persisted in their work, joining forces in November 2016 with a neighbourhood shelter. Jenny kept on the campaign after Mike passed away in December 2017, seeing it as a tribute to her late partner.

They had offered 142,498 pizza pieces, worth about $70,000, as of October 2018.
Jenny sees their deed as a little but significant act of kindness because she believes in the strength of unity among people.
