A British Airways pilot faced termination from his job after engaging in inappropriate behaviour while off-duty and prior to attempting to operate a fully occupied flight. Mike Beaton, who is married, openly discussed the incident with a female flight attendant, candidly admitting his misconduct.

In recounting the incident to his colleague, Beaton shared, “I’ve lost my shirt somewhere and one of the local lads produces a plate with a few lines of coke” He then went on to boast, “That’s the story of how I ended up snorting coke off a girl’s tits in Joburg.”

Horrified by his actions and conversation, the concerned stewardess promptly reported Beaton’s behaviour to airline management. This report led to the cancellation of the scheduled flight from Johannesburg to London, resulting in substantial estimated costs of €115,581 for the airline.

In response to this shocking incident, the airline expressed its deep dismay regarding the behaviour of their former employee and emphasized its unwavering commitment to prioritizing safety above all else.
