Fried Food Is Linked To Depression & Anxiety, According To Study

According to a population-based study of 140,728 adults, frequent fried food consumption, particularly fried potatoes, is related with a 12% and 7% increased risk of anxiety and depression, respectively.



The correlations were stronger in male and younger customers.




Long-term exposure to acrylamide, a common food processing pollutant in fried foods, consistently worsens scototaxis and thigmotaxis, exhibiting anxiety- and depressive-like characteristics.
