EU Activation Highlights Social Rights & Fairness For All Citizens

Your work, your rights, your growth

The professional world is changing fast, from tech shaking up jobs to the green transition creating whole new industries. That can feel overwhelming, but here’s the good news: the EU has your back with social rights designed to protect, empower, and open doors for you!

Here’s how:

🎓 Access to education & upskilling

Whether you’re fresh out of university or mid-career, the EU wants you to keep growing. With programmes like Erasmus+ through which you can study abroad and gain life-changing experiences, or Europass that helps you manage your career and training across Europe.  By 2030, at least 60% of adults should be in training every year, lifelong learning is the goal. It’s never too late to learn a new skill!

💼 Fair working conditions

Every worker in Europe is entitled to a fair wage, and at least four weeks of paid leave each year. That’s besides leave for specific events, such as becoming a parent, or losing a loved one. It’s all about balance, security, and dignity at work. And this applies to your mental health too!

🌱 Work-Life balance

Everyone deserves time to rest, recharge, and care for loved ones without losing out at work.  No matter where you are in the EU, your work can’t keep you for longer than 48 hours per week, even with overtime included.

🚀 A future-proof Europe

Digitalisation and the green transition mean new jobs are popping up while some fade out. That might sound daunting, but the EU provides solutions. To stay ahead, the EU invests in reskilling and training, so no one gets left behind.

The “Let’s Make It Work” activation of the European Commission is all about making sure people know and use these rights.

It’s not just policy talk, it’s about your day-to-day life, your job, your opportunities.
