Smokers Get 1 Week Off A Year From Cigarette Breaks

Smokers have some extra break time ..

New research has uncovered an intriguing revelation: smokers are gaining an additional week of time off from work each year, all thanks to their smoking habit.

According to data gathered by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), a significant 52 percent of smokers regularly take breaks from work to indulge in a cigarette or vape throughout the day.

Among those surveyed, these breaks add up to approximately 20 minutes spent outside each time. When all these moments are combined, smokers accumulate an astonishing 39 hours of cigarette breaks over the course of a year.

This discovery undoubtedly raises eyebrows and might leave non-smokers feeling a tad envious. When we break it down into workdays, the numbers show that smokers are essentially receiving an extra six days off annually.

So while smokers might be satisfying their cravings with a quick puff, they’re inadvertently securing some additional time away from their work duties, leaving others to ponder the fairness of it all.
