Owners Could Face A €2,000 Fine If Their Dog Barks In A Park

A famous dog park in Montreal has made barking dogs illegal, with owners facing fines of up to €2,000.

Locals were astonished to see a notice at their dog park on the corner of Jean-Talon Street and Provencher Boulevard in Montreal’s Saint-Leonard neighborhood prohibiting their canines from barking.
 
If they do let out a bark, owners could face a €500-€2,000 punishment.
 
According to a council official, “this sign was intended to help reduce the nuisance experienced by the neighbourhood of this dog park.”
