Fox acknowledged dealing with body dysmorphia, a psychological disorder marked by a fixation with one’s appearance and perceived physical faults, despite being viewed as a sex icon. She claimed that she has never fully appreciated her physique and that she has never seen herself as other people do.

Fox stated that she suffers from severe insecurities and recognized that she had body dysmorphia and insecurities long before she became famous.
