The Mediterrane Film Festival, celebrating creativity in the film industry in the Mediterranean region, will be held in Malta from June 25-30, 2023.

The festival will take place in Valletta and other locations in Malta, and will help Malta’s position in the global film market by attracting quality productions. The festival was announced on May 3 at the Mediterranean House, with ambassadors and representatives from the MED9 countries present.

The Film Commission introduced the “Sure Start” initiative, investing €500,000 in education and training for the film industry, including a film summer camp for children. “Malta Create,” a fund of €100,000 for first-time short film producers, will also be available. The Film Commission aims to create job opportunities and facilitate investments in the industry.
