The police are currently investigating a situation where an England fan was reportedly threatened by a bouncer wielding a machete at a bar in Paceville over the weekend.

According to reports, the alleged incident occurred on Saturday at Beggars Inn, following Malta’s significant loss to England in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.

However, the management of Beggars Inn has refuted the existence of any machete incident, claiming that fans were asked to leave due to their rude and abusive behavior, and in response, they began hurling bottles at the staff.

The Malta Police Force has stated that they are actively looking into the reported incident.

Initially, reports of the machete incident began circulating on Saturday night and were later picked up by British media the following day.

On Sunday, Henry Winter took to Twitter to describe an alleged situation where an England fan was supposedly pursued by a bouncer carrying a machete after refusing to wear a shirt. The management of the bar, however, stated that the incident has been exaggerated, emphasizing that the bar’s staff faced abuse from fans.
