On May 20, New York City’s AKC Museum of the Dog rolled out the red carpet for the inaugural Pet Gala, an evening of furry fashion inspired by the iconic Met Gala.

The Pet Gala has its roots in a 2013 photo project by pet couturier and women’s wear designer Anthony Rubio. For years, Rubio has been transforming Met Gala looks into fabulous canine couture and showcasing his creations in annual photoshoots. Fast forward to 2024, and Rubio has teamed up with the AKC Museum of the Dog to turn this fun project into a full-blown glamorous event.
