Cooper, a Golden Retriever, has gone through a life that seems too dramatic to be true.

After being given to a dog pound by his old family, he was eventually adopted by a new family. However, Cooper could not stop thinking about his old home, and so he bolted from the car during a trip with his new owners and spent the next 27 days traveling alone.

He walked over 40 miles, through backwoods and along main roads, mostly at night and without any humans to care for him. This heartbroken rescue dog was determined to make it back to his original home.
