Setting the sky ablaze for a new record attempt!

As widely known, Santa Marija holds immense significance throughout the Maltese Islands, particularly in Gozo, where both locals and tourists gather in large numbers to marvel at the breathtaking fireworks shows.

This year’s Santa Marija festivities promise to be larger and more spectacular than ever before. Various locations across Malta and Gozo are vying to surpass each other in breaking several national fireworks records. Mqabba, Għaxaq, and Rabat in Gozo are engaging in a friendly competition to outdo one another in terms of fireworks weight, size, and quantity ignited simultaneously.

In Mqabba, an attempt will be made to establish a national record for mechanized ground fireworks. Meanwhile, Ħal Għaxaq aims to set a new benchmark for the largest combined volume and weight of airborne fireballs.

Adding to the excitement, Rabat in Gozo is geared up to shatter the record for the highest number of fireworks ignited simultaneously. With these ambitions, this year’s Santa Marija celebrations are poised to outshine previous years’ extravaganzas. If all goes as planned, several national records will be shattered, treating audiences across the islands to a mesmerizing spectacle of vibrant hues and illuminating brilliance.
