A man has been directed by Judge Laura Ruiz Alaminos to pay his former spouse, Ivana Moral, £180,000 (AUD $322,957) as compensation for 25 years of unpaid domestic labour, as per the Mirror.

The settlement was calculated based on the minimum wage of domestic work performed during their marriage.

The judge found Ivana solely responsible for all household chores while they were together, during which they had two children. According to the divorce decree obtained by the Mirror, Ivana had been essentially working at home, taking care of the household and the family.

Additionally, the South China Morning Post reported that the couple’s marriage was governed by a separation of property agreement, so Ivana had no access to the money they had accumulated over the years.
