73% Of People Want To Stay Single This Summer

It is officially summer, which means it’s the opposite of cuffing season!

During this time, people shed their winter coats and perhaps even end their situationships! To start embracing the freedom of being single and enjoying summer.

According to a study conducted by Lovehoney, a sex shop, 73 percent of people want to remain single this summer, with 80 percent of those aged 18-24 planning to “uncuff.” The survey, which involved over 1,000 sexually active adults, revealed that 66 percent of respondents generally prefer being in a relationship during winter and participating in cuffing season when the time comes.

When it comes to summer, both men and women showed similar rates of preference for being single (71 percent of men and 74 percent of women). However, more men (25 percent) expressed a desire to be in a relationship during this season compared to women (15 percent). In contrast, during winter, only half of men preferred being in a relationship, whereas 70 percent of women felt the same way.

Overall, the survey found that only 18 percent of respondents would be open for a relationship during the summer, while 47 percent preferred to be single and actively dating.

Christine Rafe, a sex and relationship expert at Lovehoney, said in a press release, “In my practice, I’ve observed that many people are more physically active, spend more time outdoors, and generally feel more confident in themselves during the summer and warmer months. This likely influences their willingness to date and engage in more casual sexual encounters as well.”
