Mrs. T, a 90-year-old tortoise from Pembrook, Wales, had her front legs eaten by rats while hibernating, causing concern for owner Jude Ryder.

Despite a costly veterinary bill of £1,000, the situation remained dire until Ryder’s son Dale, a mechanical engineer, affixed wheels from a model aircraft onto Mrs. T’s shell, doubling her speed.

Dale had received Mrs. T as a gift when he was eight years old, and she was already in her sixties. Ryder stated that the addition of wheels was like a “turbo charger” for Mrs. T, significantly increasing her speed.
