Teletubbies Fans Freak Out Over Their Size

Talk about a growth spurt!📏

Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa, and Po were iconic figures during the 90s, a cherished part of many children’s memories. The Teletubbies, initially launched in 1997 and running until 2001, showcased four vibrant characters sporting televisions on their bellies, residing in the enchanting Teletubbyland. Here, they frolicked, consumed Tubby Custard, played, and danced upon a hill.

If the Teletubbies held a special spot in your heart due to their quirky antennas, brace yourself for a revelation that might reshape your view. Despite their seemingly modest stature, the quartet stands remarkably tall—surpassing even humans in height. Astonishingly, the tallest among them, Tinky-Winky, reaches a towering 10 feet. This newfound insight emerged in a viral Tweet that displayed the purple character alongside real-life humans. @fasc1nate on Twitter unveiled this fact, stating: “Despite their on-screen appearance, the characters were massive: Tinky Winky measured 10 feet, Po stood at 6 feet 6 inches, Laa-Laa reached 6 feet 5 inches, and Dipsy stood at 8 feet.”

Indeed, our beloved petite Po isn’t quite as petite as we once thought. The tweet continued to explain, “To create the illusion of their small size, the show was shot on an expansive set in Wimpstone, Warwickshire—a secret kept for a considerable time. But once the location of the show was uncovered, it inadvertently became a tourist attraction, drawing enthusiasts who trespassed to glimpse the ‘Tubbytronic Superdome.’ Frustrated by the disruptions, the landowners eventually decided to submerge the set.”
