Variety has reported that negotiations are underway with the original cast members of the ‘Shrek’ movies, including Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, and Antonio Banderas, to return for the franchise’s fifth instalment.

The founder and CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri, is leading the negotiations, and it’s expected that the cast will be back as there’s great enthusiasm from the actors. Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas, and Mike Myers have previously expressed their desire to reprise their roles.
