The House of Representatives has approved a bill that seeks to prohibit transgender athletes from participating in girls and women’s sports teams in federally funded schools and institutions.

However, despite its passage in the House, the bill is anticipated to face opposition in the Senate and the White House, with the latter having already issued a veto threat against it.

The bill, known as the “Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act,” was introduced by Greg Steube of Florida.
