Naples Celebrates First Football Win In 33 Years

Last night in Naples was a sight to behold (and it looks like the revelry will continue well into the weekend) as the Azzurri clinched their third-ever championship win in Italy.

It’s been a long time coming – a whopping 33 years, to be exact!

Napoli’s 2023 season has been nothing short of incredible, with an impressive record of 25 wins, five draws, and just three losses. While the scudetto celebrations were inevitable, they had to be delayed last weekend after a draw with Salernitana.

But last night, after a 1-1 away draw with Udinese, Napoli secured their league win, and Naples erupted in a pre-planned, fantastical celebration. The Diego Armando Maradona Stadium was packed with tens of thousands of people, watching their team’s away match and eagerly awaiting the city-wide festivities.

From spontaneous street parties to the city’s skyline lit up by fireworks, the scenes from last night’s celebration were truly insane. This marks Naples’ first Italian league win since the days of Maradona, who once graced the streets and stadiums of the city.
