The general public has been informed by the Malta Tax Commissioner that due to an error in the printing process of tax rebate checks, 1,000 cheques were mistakenly printed twice and subsequently mailed.

As per the Finance Ministry’s announcement, out of these checks, 952 were intended for residents of Marsaxlokk, while the remaining 48 were meant for individuals living in Ħaż-Żebbuġ.

The concerned recipients will soon receive a letter specifying which check is the extra one, and they will be requested to return it. The banks have been alerted to stop payment on these checks.
