After a series of earthquakes, Campi Flegrei, a vast volcanic region in Italy, is showing signs of activity, potentially for the first time in nearly five centuries. 🌋🇮🇹

This Italian supervolcano is located near Naples, in the southern part of the country. It consists of multiple volcanic calderas, which are expansive depressions formed by past volcanic eruptions.

The most recent eruption in the area occurred in 1538, propelling molten rock and gases high into the stratosphere, resulting in various long-lasting effects, including 100-foot tsunamis.
