Well done to the AFM soldiers 👏

Timely intervention by a group of soldiers within the Maltese Armed Forces proved crucial in saving the lives of swimmers trapped in rough seas off Tigne Point in Sliema.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when the Search and Rescue Coordination Center received information about a man in distress at sea who was unable to reach the shore.

Immediately, the center mobilized several units from within the Armed Forces, including helicopters and a rescue boat dispatched to the location. Once located, a military helicopter team successfully rescued the swimmers. They were then handed over to a medical team from Mater Dei Hospital, which was on standby at the scene to provide assistance.

Meanwhile, on Facebook, the Maltese Rescue Coordination Center urged the public to stay away from the rough sea due to hazardous conditions.
