The upcoming sequel to Gladiator will be filmed in Malta during the summer, and over 900 people have already applied to be extras.

Casting coordinator and director Brenda Camilleri posted a call on Facebook on Thursday, inviting people to take part in an “upcoming Roman epic feature film.”

Ridley Scott, the director of the 2000 Oscar-winning Roman epic Gladiator, will be returning to Malta to film the sequel. The shoot is scheduled to run from June 15 to September 5, and Camilleri is looking for men, women, and children of all ethnicities to create a historically accurate depiction of Rome, complete with the nations they conquered and enslaved.
