Young Maltese gymnastics team dominates international competition in Serbia

Maltese GymStars Gymnastics Club flew over to Novi Sad in Serbia to compete in the 10th jubilee edition of the MAG and WAG International Memorial Competition, Laza Krstić and Marica Dželatović … and they absolutely smashed it!

Eight junior athletes competed against national teams from Bulgaria, Serbia, South Africa, Dubai, Slovenia, Croatia, Germany and Poland.

Our amazing gymnasts competed in the Youths, Pre-Juniors, Junior and Senior categories, dominating in the majority of them.

A recent Facebook post by GymStars breaks down their results, and they’re impressive to say the least!

Philippa Busuttil finished 1st overall and got into the finals for Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor and came 3rd on Floor and 1st on Bars!

Lyana Curmi Inguanez finished 19th overall and got into the floor final!

Faith Cassar finished 28th overall!

Tara Vella Clark finished 2nd overall and got into the finals for Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor and came 3rd in Vault, 1st on Bars, 1st on Beam and 2nd on Floor!

Rihanna Sullivan finished 7th overall and got into the finals for Vault and Bars and was reserved on Floor!

Elena Bondin finished 17th overall!

Ella Borg finished 1st Overall and got into the finals for Bars, Beam and Floor and was reserved on Vault and came 1st on Beam and 3rd on Floor!

Leah Barber finished 11th Overall and got into the finals on Vault, Bars and Floor and was reserved on Beam!

To top it all off – GymStars came first as a Team!

What an amazing achievement!
