Work has finally started to rebuild a main road in Gozo following a 13 month delay.
Construction workers have begun digging up the surface of Mgarr Road in Nadur.
It was closed in September last year, forcing fed up drivers heading from Nadur to the Gozo ferry to divert via Qala.
Gozo minister Justyne Caruana promised that the road would be completely rebuilt in ‘the largest investment ever seen in Nadur’.
She said the road presented ‘major challenges, as it is not only cosmetic but a massive infrastructure project due to the fact that it has been neglected for several years.’
