It was recently announced that a trial program to increase the hours of government-run childcare facilities would begin in six locations in October.
The participating centres will extend their operating hours by three hours every day, starting at 6 a.m. instead of 7.30 a.m. and closing at 6 p.m. instead of 4.30 p.m., as part of the trial. On Saturdays, the centres will be open from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Following this announcement, a woman took it to social media, saying that she ‘pities these kids’ and that ‘children need enough hours of sleep as well’.
She also claimed that one shouldn’t have kids if they will be making ‘excuses’ to not spend time with their kids.
Many have responded back, saying that it’s unfair to make such assumptions and that one should mind his own business when it comes to how one should be a parent.
