Woman Becomes Fitness Influencer At 75

 

Seventy-five-year-old Joan MacDonald went from struggling to walk upstairs to being a fitness influencer on Instagram with over a million followers.

 

 

She began her journey five years ago, at the age of 70, when a doctor told her that her blood pressure was rising and that she needed to take more medication.

 

 

Joan was exhausted all of the time, suffering from terrible arthritis, and having difficulty with day-to-day activities.

 

Joan thought enough was enough when the doctor informed her of the concerning news. Michelle, her fitness coach, urged her to get in shape, and she felt it was time.

 

“When Michelle gave me that ultimatum to do something about my life, I figured it’s now or never,” Joan told ABC News. “I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. It was existing, not living.”

 

 

The training regime was no walk in the park, but Joan found motivation in the instant change she felt in her body. As well as losing 10 pounds in the first month, she was soon able to half her medications. Fast forward four years and Joan is fitter than ever!
