Winter gets off to a flying start at Malta’s airport

Winter has got off to a flying start at Malta Airport with another big increase in passenger numbers.

New figures show passenger movements in November soared by 8.7 per cent compared to the same month last year.

Airport bosses said last month saw 493,201 passenger movements as well as an 8.5 per cent rise in take offs and landings.

The top markets for November were the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, France, and Spain.

Four new winter routes were launched from Malta last month – to Paphos in Cyprus, Nis in Serbia, Santiago de Compostela in Spain and Trieste in Italy.
