Lydia Abela, Prime Minister Robert Abela’s wife, has released a video with words of support and encouragement for the Maltese public, during the COVID-19 outbreak in Malta.
She urges people to stay as calm as they can, not to worry, and most importantly, to follow the official health guidelines.

While thanking Malta’s health care professionals, she reassures the elderly and Malta’s children that this only a “temporary measure, and the time will come” when they can meet their loved ones again.
Speaking to parents and children directly, she shares how “Giorgia and I are using this time as a tool to build a stronger relationship than ever before,” and urges parents and kids around the island to do the same.
She ends by acknowledging that although this is a challenging time for the country and the world, it shows Malta’s truest strengths: “solidarity, love, and family values”.
