WATCH: Robert Pattinon’s “The Batman” Gets First Trailer

The long-awaited “The Batman” which sees Twilight’s Robert Pattinson put on Batman’s boots has finally go its first teaser trailer, and…well, we cannot wait!

The first trailer for Matt Reeves’ The Batman shows Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight in action along with Paul Dano’s Riddler, Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman, and an unrecognizable Colin Farrell as the Penguin, plus Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon. We analyze the new spin on each villain, break down the mystery driving the plot, and give our best theory on what the Riddler is up to with his “No More Lies” clues.

The Batman was originally set to come out on June 25, 2021. The COVID-19 pandemic pushed back its production and it is now scheduled for October 1, 2021 and here is the full cast list so far, with no Joker or Robin in sight!

Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman

Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon

Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman – This will be Kravitz’s second time playing Catwoman on the big screen… her first time was playing her in The LEGO Batman Movie.

Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/The Riddler

Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin – The Penguin was last played on the big screen by Danny DeVito in Batman Returns, and in fact Farrell almost played Batman back in the day in the never-produced Batman vs. Superman that filmmaker Wolfgang Petersen was developing.

Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth – Serkis worked with The Batman director Matt Reeves on Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes, so it’s no surprise the two would be looking to work together again. At least this time Serkis won’t need to wear a mocap suit!

Jayme Lawson as Bella

John Turturro as Carmine Falcone

Peter Sarsgaard as Unknown Character
