WATCH: Police Shut Down SiGMA Summit Party Due To Breach Of COVID Regulations

SiGMA Europe Summit’s party in Paceville’s Sky Club was shut down by the police on Wednesday evening due to a lack of COVID measures.

Sources revealed that the police busted the party at around 11:30 pm and that due to the bust, guest singer Akon had to cancel his performance. Earlier on Wednesday, Akon spoke at SiGMA’s main event in Ta’ Qali where he promoted his own cryptocurrency Akoin.

In a video published to TikTok, police can be seen advising attendees to leave the premises. Several photos were also shared on Facebook by other partygoers.

Malta Independent has since revealed that the SiGMA organisers will now be enforcing COVID-19 measures at the main venue in Ta’ Qali, after revealing that COVID certificates were not being checked at the party. They also found that temperature checks and the wearing of facemasks were not being enforced.
