The teaser really does the job, it shows us Santa’s Village, the real one, and also introduces us to the cutest of elves! One thing’s for sure, we cannot wait for the end of 2020, as with this movie, we will definitely be ending it on a good note.
For those of you who were living under a rock last Christmas, The Christmas Chronicles followed Kate and Teddy Pierce, two siblings and true belieers, who attempt to capture Santa on Christmas Eve.
Their mission doesn’t exactly go according to plan, as they accidentally crash Santa’s sleigh, and end up joining forces with good ol’ Saint Nick, to deliver the presents on time, all over the world.
In the sequel, we meet Kate again, who is now a disillusioned teenager and her brother Teddy. This time, however, according to Netflix, Kate is “unexpectedly reunited with Santa Claus when a mysterious, magical troublemaker named Belsnickel (played by Julian Dennison) threatens to destroy Christmas forever.”
When it was released back in 2018, the Christmas Chronicles had over 20 million views in its first week alone, with Netflix’s Chief Content Officer saying that it was the most successful movie of Russell’s career.
Sarandos had said that: “If every one of those was a movie ticket purchase, that’s a $200 million opening week. Even movies that go on to $1 billion don’t typically do that in the first week.”
We DID mention the cute elves right?
The Christmas Chronicles 2 will be available for streaming on the 25th November!
