WATCH: Netflix Announces Release Dates For Money Heist Season 5

Looks like it’s a wrap for Money Heist, as Netflix has just announced that the fifth season of the infamous Spanish crime series will be its last, and it will be ending in two installments of 5 episodes each!

The first five episodes will be released on September 3 and then volume 2 will be released three months after, on December 3. The upcoming season will also see the return of actors Álvaro Morte, Úrsula Corberó, Pedro Alonso, Itziar Ituño, Najwa Nimri, Jaime Lorente, Miguel Herrán, Esther Acebo, among others.

Money Heist, titled Le Casa De Papel in Spanish, was created by Alex Pina and produced by Vancouver Media. The series wrapped production on its last chapter on May 14.

In a statement, the creator shared, When we began to write Part 5 in the midst of the pandemic, we felt that we had to change what was expected from the ten-episode season and used every tool we could to create the sensation of a season finale or series finale in the first volume itself.

We decided to work in an extremely aggressive genre, putting The Gang on the ropes. In volume 2, we focus more on the emotional situation of the characters. It is a journey across their sentimental map that connects us directly to their departure, Pina added.
